having someone come up to the board
Mr. Ko: I don't want to make her suffer, I want to make her think.
me: Same thing.
Angela
Mr. Luong: Jada, what do you think?
me: Well, I think that the company should assess its employees on their attitudes and not just their results or output. They should reward the people who enjoy their work over someone who is just...mean to everyone and always negative.
Mr. Luong: like whom from THE OFFICE?
me: Angela? haha.
Mr. Luong: haha. right.
the class: huh? what are you guys talking about?
Mr. Luong: something from THE OFFICE, the TV show. you guys should all watch it. it's really good.

problems. i like to avoid them. when someone is saying something about another person, i don’t really want to get involved. it’s just so…negative and, as i was telling Alvin, it ends up making me feel bad for that person. i don’t know. i like to pretend everything is hunky dory. “Jada,” you might say, “don’t you ever get mad at anyone? where does...
future thinking
if i ever have kids (the thought of actually having to squeeze one out still grosses me out), i want: to surround them with books. i want them to read difficult books at an early age and read them just for the sake of reading. i liked reading when i was little but now, i only read because i have to. to live in a middle-class neighborhood. i’m not one of those people who dream about living in...
5 - 30
in Psych, we had to mark T or F for thirty statements on a worksheet on the “fear of negative evaulation scale.” the total number points could be anywhere from five to thirty. (there was some elaborate way to count them up.) the mean score for men was 13.97 and the mean score for women was 16.1. and my outrageous score was 26! which, according to Mr. Luong, i guess means i care a lot...
cold turkey
i’m kind of over AIM. i just waste even more time on the computer when i’m on. i’d rather be reading or taking pictures or biking. i’ve stopped cold turkey. i’m sure i’ll want to sign on every so often to talk to you guys but right now, i’m done with it. i’ll continue to write in my Tumblr and check my email.

on FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS
TV Guide: Why do you think FRIDAY NIGHT LIGHTS doesn't score in the ratings?
Kyle Chandler: There are two kinds of people: Those who have never seen the show, and those who are addicted to it. FNL is not about high-school kids playing football. It's about a small town and the people who live in it and the importance of their ordinariness.

sometimes, yes, she is a buffer.
it's not that i love school
i am dying to go school on Tuesday because… i hate weekends. every week, i look forward to the weekends. Thursday means one more day left and Friday means just a few hours of school to get through. but when the weekend actually comes, it’s like hell. i can’t get out of my head. i stay up late and think about everything i regret. i wait for people to sign on but when they do, i...
