I was around a lot of annoying people today. →
(From trangpak.)
I was around a lot of annoying people today. I overheard a dude tell someone that he joined a ski team because the coach was, and I quote, “smokin’ hot.” Naturally, I made a badger-face and muttered “gross” under my breath, but just loud enough so he probably heard me. Also, a person I really don’t like told me (once again) that I am “sassy,” which made me want to scream WRONG!...
Dear Feminists, You're Doing It Right →
(From feminally.)
You get so tired. You get so sick of the homophobia, the sexism, the culture of rape jokes and wife beating cartoons. But today you can take 30 seconds and smile. Somewhere right now there is a daddy dancing along while his femmy boy sings Lady Gaga. Somewhere right now there is a little girl suiting up to go play football with her peewee team. Somewhere there is a woman taking...
The People You Meet When You Write About Rape →
(From malefeminist via moreapologies.)
Mr. What About The Men “The real problem here is all these false rape accusations that are destroying our society! 90 million men are falsely accused of rape every second! A woman just has to sort of mumble a word starting with ‘r’ and a man instantly gets a life sentence! There are no instances on record of a woman actually being raped!” Ms. Tough Girl...

aneurysm
I am seriously about to have an aneurysm right now. I was just reading this article called “The Conquest of Youth” by Cotes and Allahar for my Canadian Society class and it was going all fine and dandy. It talked about gender intensification during adolescence and how teenagers are tracked into certain fields based on their gender and how girls and boys are tied down to certain...

Republicans Block Up-Or-Down Vote on the Paycheck... →
(From spectrumnaut.)
In 2010. We were 2 votes away… 2.
“Here’s your $.77 to his $1.00. Enjoy, ma’am.” It’s like Nancy Pelosi tweeted:
@SpeakerPelosi Speaker Nancy Pelosi: Senate GOP blocked the House-passed equal pay bill for equal work. Women deserve better.#WhatDoTheyTellTheirDaughters?
Answer: You aren’t worth the same as the boys.

Feminism Is Not Rewarding... →
(From malefeminist via technotation.)
Feminism is not rewarding. People who take active steps to call people out on their bullshit (because walking the walk and stopping sexism where it happens, not just passively not contributing to sexist behavior) will be put down, told to “lighten up”. Female feminists will be called “bitches” and male feminists, “fags”.
People will not listen to...
Facebook and GPA
I just took an online survey that was trying to find if there is a correlation between Facebook usage and GPA. I love how I got to write that I use Facebook a lot and yet my GPA is still high. Muahaha. Conventional wisdom would say that the more you use Facebook, the lower your GPA would be but guess who’s the exception! Now I must log off Facebook so that I can start the five-page essay I...
MASH
(From eniloracesor.)
Some days at the bank, we will go half an hour without a customer. And we have to keep ourselves entertained. We played MASH the other day, you remember the one where you have to list 4 potential spouses, 4 kinds of cars to drive, 4 places to honeymoon, etc. Well. “Jobs” is also a category. As a college grad and full time member of the work force, I had trouble coming...
runner's log
20 minutes running = 1.9 miles.
First time running 20 minutes straight in half a year (with one exception)! I went from three sets of 6-minute runs to doing 20 minutes straight. I think I’ll go back down to maybe running for 5, 8, and 5 next week. 20 minutes was a killer, especially in our super hot gym. Still, I feel accomplished!
